Assessment Appeals Hearings

The Assessment Appeals Boards are quasi-judicial bodies composed of three members appointed by the Board of Supervisors. These Boards are administered by the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. The Board members have professional experience in the fields of real estate, property appraisal, accounting, law, or similar areas. Property owners in the County of San Diego may file an Assessment Appeal Application with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. There is no fee for this service.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, virtual Assessment Appeals hearings have been implemented to continue business operations while ensuring compliance with current public health guidelines. If you are currently scheduled for an Assessment Appeals hearing, you can complete the Application to Waive In Person Assessment Appeal Hearing and submit it via email to AssessmentAppeals@sdcounty.ca.gov or, contact our office at 619-531-5777 for more information.
