MAJOR VIOLATIONS
Under state law, major violations associated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention risk factors require immediate corrective action, a suitable alternative, or the closure of the impacted areas of the food facility until compliance is achieved.
SEWAGE & WASTEWATER PROPERLY DISPOSED
Examples of major violations include overflows or back-ups of sewage/wastewater into the food facility that can result in the contamination of food contact surfaces or the adulteration of food, or an overflowing or clogged grease trap/interceptor.
REQUIREMENTS
- All liquid waste must drain to an approved fully functioning sewage disposal system [§114297, §114326(a-b)(g-h), §114327(b)(2)]
- All plumbing shall be installed and maintained so as to prevent contamination, and kept clean and in good repair (§114190)
- All equipment that discharges liquid waste shall drain indirectly through an air gap into a floor sink or other approved receptor/evaporator (§114193)
- Grease traps and grease interceptors must be properly installed and maintained (§114201)
