DEH Health Permit Fees
Notice of Cost Recovery Adjustment
The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) will bring forward proposed fee adjustments to the Board of Supervisors for consideration in April 2018. San Diego County Board of Supervisors policy B-29 requires DEH to be full cost recovery. Since DEH's last adjusted fees, the department has focused on how to offset rising costs by gaining operational efficiencies, leveraging technology to streamline work, and implementing business re-engineering projects.
The draft proposed fees in DEH’s cost recovery proposal are provided in the list of proposed fees. These preliminary fees are currently being reviewed by the County’s Auditor and Controller. Subsequent to the Auditor and Controller’s review, the list of fees will be updated and posted as proposed and subject to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors review and consideration, which is anticipated in April. Please contact the Department at (858) 505-6700 or via email if you have questions about the proposed fee adjustments. If approved, the fees shown in the column entitled Fiscal Year 2018-2019 would be effective July 1, 2018.
